Fair Use Limits
About the Policy
This fair use policy governs cloud storage and data export utilization. If the use of services exceeds the fair use limits, you will be in violation of this fair use policy and will be subject to overage fees as set forth herein and/or termination, as determined by RCW. Unless otherwise documented in an order form, the following fair use policy applies.
The policy applies to all RCW cloud services that are not sold on an SKU that charge by storage (GB or TB),
Fair Use Limits
Cloud Storage
The amount of Cloud Storage you use is equal to the aggregate amount of data stored in the RCW Cloud after compression and deduplication, including storage used by all available retention, restore points, historical file or object revisions, search indexes, and other metadata. Fair use overages are aggregated and enforced per product.
Fair Use Cloud Storage limits are calculated as follows:
-
server cloud backup adds 3TB to Fair Use Cloud Storage
-
desktop cloud backup adds 300GB to Fair Use Cloud Storage
-
billable seat adds 500GB to Fair Use Cloud Storage
-
billable seat adds 100GB to Fair Use Cloud Storage
The fair use policy is violated if used Cloud Storage exceeds Fair Use Cloud Storage limits for each product. Violations will be subject to overages of $0.05 per GB per month over the allotted amounts.
Virtual Office
Virtual Office Usage is equal to the total number of days any individual VM is virtualized in the RCW Cloud in either ‘Test’ or ‘Live’ modes. Fair Use Virtual Office Usage is calculated as 30 days per VM (server or workstation type) virtualized per calendar year. Virtual Office overage charges will be incurred at $10/day per VM per month once 30 days per year are exceeded.
Data Exports
RCW cloud services are intended for backup, disaster recovery, and collaboration, and are not intended for use as a content distribution network. The fair use policy is violated if the aggregate sum of the amount of data exported and data downloaded from RCW cloud services in the last 12 months exceeds 200% of the current Used Cloud Storage.
The data export fair use policy is violated if Cloud Storage Data Export exceeds Fair Use Cloud Data Export limits for each product. Violations will be subject to overages of $0.08 per GB transmitted over the allotted amounts.
This fair use policy may be changed by RCW posting an updated policy. The updated policy will be effective upon posting.
